Making Our Unfinished Bedroom Feel Cozy with Buffy (+ Discount Code!)

The Blonde Vic

This post is sponsored by Buffy and contains affiliate links. If you decide to purchase through one of the links we’ve included in this blog post, we will receive a small commission.

It’s been almost a year since we moved into The Vic, and our master bedroom looks the same as it did last December.  Our mattress is still on the floor, and we don’t have any furniture or art or any of the other things that people usually put into bedrooms (except for an extra sofa that we’re storing up here temporarily).  This year, we’ve embraced imperfection and the unfinished.  We don’t know when we’ll actually get this room finished… why wait until everything is decorated to make it comfy?

Well, let me tell you, our mattress-on-the-floor setup has never been comfier.

WhO is Buffy?

Buffy uses earth-friendly materials and processes to make the softest comforters, sheets and pillows.  They use 100% recycled polyester, natural dyes, and recycled plastic bottles as fill for their comforters.  They have thought of every detail, down to the packaging, which is also recyclable, compostable, and much smaller than other bedding packaging we’ve seen.

the CLOUD COMFORTER

Upgrading our comforter was something we could do easily to make our sleeping situation more comfy.  After seeing its 17k reviews and 4.8 star rating, we reached out to Buffy to see if they’d let us try their Cloud Comforter.  Spoiler alert: they said yes!  We’ve been sleeping with ours for 4 or 5 months now and love, love it.  It’s light and fluffy, but somehow feels denser than all of the other down alternative comforters we’ve used.  It doesn’t make a crinkly noise when you move it, doesn’t make us hot at night, and the fabric is SUPER soft.  It’s made from eucalyptus that’s grown using 10x less water than cotton, and because the fill is made from recycled plastic bottles, it helps keeps bottles out of landfills (and geese alive!).

Aside from the Buffy brand being cruelty-free and the product being amazing, I love that this comforter isn’t boxy.  We don’t have a duvet on ours right now, but it would look nice and flat as an insert without making a bed look lumpy.  It keeps its shape and makes our bed (aka, mattress) looking nice and full.

DISCOUNT CODe

I grew up in New Jersey and always had a dream of living in New York.  There was something about the energy of the city that drew me inOur journey started unexpectedly in 2012, when we decided to make a big move from New York to Columbus. The glamour of climbing the corporate ladder was wearing off, and we knew that renting an expensive small apartment and dealing with crowded subways everyday was not going to work forever. We wanted to start creating something for ourselves, and although we didn’t know exactly what that something was, we knew NYC wasn’t the place for it.

We decided on Columbus because Bryan grew up here, and we were intrigued by all of the development going on in the downtown area at the time. We drove through many of the neighborhoods and admired the boarded up old houses, most of which were built in the early 1900s, and started dreaming about the things we could do here.

I'm Catherine, and I'm the founder of Beginning in the Middle.
